Updating Controller Firmware 

 
Updating the firmware within the Touchscreen Controller can be accomplished through the USB port located on the 
right side of the controller. 
 

USB Drive Software Update 

 

1.  This uses a standard USB drive.  This method requires a single file supplied by Maguire Products to 

perform a software update to the Touchscreen Controller.  This file may be requested from Maguire 
Products.  The file is labeled (example only): 

 

awb_100708.deb 

 

When you are provided with this file, it should be copied to a USB drive in the root directory (not in a 
sub folder).

 

 

2.  Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the Touchscreen controller.  Note, the controller should be 

powered on but should not be running cycles. 
 

3.  Enter into OPTIONS.  Press 22222, then Enter. 

 

4.  Press Special Functions, Setup, then Update.  The display should show: SOFTWARE UPDATE as 

well as the Current Version.   
 

5.  Press dropdown menu and select the firmware version you want to apply.  If more than one firmware 

version is stored on the flash drive, multiple version will be displayed in the dropdown.  If the display 
says “No Update was found. Please check USB for file.” Then press verify the file is on the USB drive 
and that it si plugged in.  Press Refresh. 
 

6.  Highlight the version from the dropdown and Press Select.  Display will show: “THE UPDATE IS IN 

PROGRESS.  Please wait…”  DO NOT remove flash drive.  DO NOT power off controller. 
 

 

Do not turn off controller or remove the flash drive while firmware 
is updating!  Doing so may corrupt the controller’s firmware. 
  

 

 

7.  When the display shows 

The Update Has Completed Successfully

, Press <OK> to Run the new 

software.  Press the OK button.  The controller will reboot.  After the reboot, the firmware update to the 
controller is complete.
