OPERATIONS AND
CHECKS AFTER STARTING
ENGINE
WARNING
• If problems occur such as an emergency
stop or abnormal operation, immediately
turn the starter switch to the "OFF" position
and stop the engine.
• Do not perform work or make sudden lever
or pedal operations while the hydraulic oil
temperature is low.
Allow hydraulic equipment to warm up.
• Operating the machine without sufficiently
warming up the hydraulic equipment may
cause the machine to respond slowly to
control lever and pedal operations, possibly
resulting in unexpected movement.
Be sure to warm up the hydraulic
equipment. The hydraulic equipment needs
adequate warm-up time, especially in cold
conditions.
There are two types of warming-up operation:
one for the engine and one for hydraulic
equipment. The warming-up method also differs
depending on the ambient conditions. Perform
warm up according to the corresponding
descriptions.
Warming up the engine alone does not warm up
the hydraulic equipment. Warm up the hydraulic
equipment separately from the engine. Warming
up the hydraulic equipment warms up the
hydraulic oil, enabling warm hydraulic oil to be
circulated through all the hydraulic circuits. Be
sure to perform warm up.
5.2.4.1 ENGINE
WARM-UP
OPERATION
IMPORTANT
Do not accelerate the engine suddenly until
warming up is complete.
After starting the engine, allow it to warm up for
more than 15 seconds at idle speed.
5.2.4.2 HYDRAULIC
EQUIPMENT
WARM-UP OPERATION
WARNING
• Before warming up the hydraulic
equipment, make sure no personnel or
obstructions are nearby, then sound the
horn.
• Warming up of the hydraulic equipment is
necessary not only for the pump-to-cylinder
circuits and pump-to-motor circuits, but
also for the operation circuits.
Operate not just the cylinders and motors of
one system or in one direction, but operate
in all operating directions for the respective
crane operations, slewing, and travelling.
1.
Allow the engine to warm up.
2.
Move the lock lever (1) slowly to the free
position (F).
3.
Prepare the crane operations while referring
to "5.4.4 OPERATION BEFORE CRANE
WORK" on P. 5-29.
