To add the Shopping Cart server SmartElement from Asset Center:
1
From Asset Center, click Locate Assets and choose SmartElements > Show all
Custom SmartElements, mouse down to the Shopping Cart SmartElement.
2
Drag and drop the element on the page. The element shows up in the
Basement. This element represents the Shopping Cart on the server.
3
With the element selected, activate the Attributes Sheet. Then, in the Content
attribute drop-down, choose Static Content and click the ellipsis button and
select the Data-Map Content Table. The element must be bound to the
Shopping Cart Data-Map Content Table. This table maps the element to the
source and destination databases.
4
Select the Shopping Cart Display SmartElement (on the page, not in the
Basement) and make sure the Source Cart attribute is set to the Shopping Cart
server SmartElement.
The Shopping Cart Display can be on the same page where the user adds products
to the cart or on a redirection page. Once you have added a Shopping Cart
Display SmartElement to a page, then, apply the following interaction to the Add
to Shopping Cart button: ‘Add Item from recordset to ShoppingCartObject when
button is clicked’. In the parameters dialog, set the NewItemRedirect to the same
page so that the page is redirecting back to itself if you have the Shopping Cart
server and display SmartElements on the same page. If you are redirecting, set the
NewItemRedirect parameter to the page with the Shopping Cart display.
