Specifying Shopping Cart Column Order
You can modify the order in which columns will appear in the Shopping Cart
when you first assign the content table to the shopping cart, or by selecting the
ellipses button next to the Cart's content attribute after the content has been
assigned. A Content dialog appears. In the Show these columns list box (on the
right), select an item and use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to rearrange
the columns. Note that even though you have set the visibility of some items to
false, you still want them to be listed in the Show these columns list box.
Shopping Cart Display SmartElement
The Shopping Cart Display SmartElement is an HTML table that is generated
from data contained in the shopping cart. It provides an interface that optionally
allows you to edit quantities of each cart item and remove cart items individually.
In addition, the SmartElement gives you a wide variety of formatting options for
font, background color, currency formatting, alignment, etc.
Naming and Using the Shopping Cart
The name you choose for your shopping cart must be consistent on all the pages
on which it is used. To deploy a functional shopping cart, you will likely have a
Shopping Cart element on several pages in your site. For instance, on any page
where products can be added to the cart, you will need a Shopping Cart element.
You will also need a Shopping Cart element on the page where the contents of the
Shopping Cart are displayed. On each of these pages, the corresponding shopping
carts must have the same name. If improperly named, interactions between the
Shopping Cart Display element will generate 'object doesn't exist' errors.
For example, suppose you have a cart entitled "Cart1" on a page where you can
add items to the cart, but the cart display page has a cart entitled "MyCart".
When you go to view the contents of the cart, there will be errors because you will
be looking at items for a cart called "MyCart," even though you added items to a
cart called "Cart1."
If you modify the column display order (as assigned via the Cart’s Content
attributes) of the cart on one page, be sure to modify the cart's display order on
the other pages as well.
Likewise, the SourceCart attribute of the display element must match the
cart name.
