Adding an Add-to-Cart Button on the
Shopping Page
You can use either a Form Button or an Image Button on a product detail page
that when submitted adds the product information to a Shopping Cart. The
button must have a Submit Form action. The Form Button has the Submit Form
action by default. If you are using an Image Button element, you must apply an
Activation manually to submit the form when it is clicked. You must also add a
Hidden Form element so the Document object includes a Form object. The page
will not be submitted to the server if the page does not include a Form element.
To add a Shopping Cart button:

From Element Toolbar, add a Form or an Image Button. If you are using a
Form Button, skip to Step 5.
Note: If you are using the Form Button instead of the Image Button you do not have to
add a Hidden Form element or Submit Activation as the Form Button itself adds the Form
object to the Document and submits to the server.

From Element Toolbar, add a Hidden SmartElement. The Hidden element
adds a Form to the Document object without adding any visible elements
to the page.

For Image Buttons, from Asset Center, drag the on-state image to the element.
Then, drag the off-state image.

For Image Buttons, right click the Image Button, choose Possible Activations.
From the list of Activations, choose:
Form Submit: Submit the Form when [Image Button] is clicked.

Select the button on the page and the Shopping Cart SmartElement and
Recordset in the Basement.

Right click and choose Possible Interactions. Choose the Interaction in the
eStore Shopping Cart category:
Add item from [Recordset] to [ShoppingCart] when [button] is clicked

In the Parameters dialog, you can choose to redirect the site shopper to pages
that state when the item has been added or is already in the cart.
