selecting dimmer/switch locations
Decide which lights you want to control with dimmers/switches
Choose your dimmer/switch locations:
1 (Switch):

Switches
•
Total wattage of all light bulbs
controlled by each switch must
be between 10 W (0.08 A) to
600 W (5 A).
•
Switch requires neutral wire in
location of install.
•
Use AuroRa
®
switches with all
lighting loads (incandescent,
magnetic low-voltage, electronic
low-voltage, fluorescent).
•
Do not use dimmers in 3-way
circuits with
AuroRa
switches.
•
When combining dimmers or
switches in the same wallbox,
the dimmer’s/switch’s load
capacity must be reduced (See
“Derating Chart” on page 22).
Suggested Locations:
•
1 (Switch): Entry
•
2 (Switch): Kitchen
•
3 (Dimmer): Foyer
•
4 (Dimmer): Garage Exterior
•
5 (Dimmer): Family
Dimmers
•
Total wattage of all light bulbs
controlled by each dimmer must
be between 50 W and 600 W.
•
Use dimmers with 120 V~
incandescent light fixtures only.
Do not use with low-voltage
transformers or compact
fluorescent bulbs.
•
When combining dimmers or
switches in the same wallbox,
the dimmer’s/switch’s load
capacity must be reduced (See
“Derating Chart” on page 22).
