Check delay
Set this to compensate for the time it takes for the pack to move from the reject device to the
Pack Check Photo-eye. Setting this allows the Check window to be set as accurately as
possible.
Tap in the field to display a pop-up numeric keypad and enter the check delay time required.
Check window
If a Pack Check signal for the un-rejected (i.e. good) product has not been received from the
Pack Check Photo-eye within the time set, a system fault is generated.
Tap in the field to display a pop-up numeric keypad and enter the check window time
required.
Check timeout
If the Pack Check Photo-eye is blocked for this length of time, a system fault is generated.
Missing pack
This field is only displayed if the Pack check option is enabled and it is only editable if the
Reject mode is set to Pulse Extn. Otherwise the default option of Fault is selected.
Select the option required when a pack that is detected by the infeed photo-eye is not
detected by the Pack Check Photo-eye.
In some circumstances, for example when a retract band reject mechanism is fitted, it may be
impossible to prevent occasional multiple packs entering the reject bin. If the conveyor should
not stop each time this occurs, select the Error option.
Tap on the arrow to the right of the field to display a list of options and select the option
required.
As for setting up reject timings, pack check setup is best done through practical testing using
representative uncontaminated product. The objective is to set the timing to reliably confirm
that an uncontaminated pack has been successfully transported through the detector using
the shortest time possible. This is so that in the event of an uncontaminated pack being held
up on the metal detector conveyor, a system fault is generated as quickly as possible.
In the
Service Options
screen, set the Auxiliary relay to Check debug to assist in setup. When
this is set, the Inspecting lamp on the lamp stack will be lit when the Check window is open.
Observe the pack as it is transported through the detector as well as the inspecting lamp, to
visually verify the pack check settings.
Pass an uncontaminated pack through the detector and confirm that the check window opens
just before the pack reaches the Pack Check Photo-eye, and closes just after the pack has
fully passed the photo-eye.
Repeat this with several packs to confirm that the settings use the smallest times possible
whilst ensuring that no false alarms are raised.
Remember to reset the Auxiliary relay after completing the setup.
Air pressure
The status of the air pressure is displayed, which will show as either Enabled or Disabled.
Monitoring of the Air pressure is enabled / disabled in the
GP I/O
screen.
If the air pressure drops below a target pressure for longer than 3s, a system fault is
generated.
