washer if necessary.

gear from the mainshaft, and check it for wear. Replace the
gear if necessary.

Take the splined washer and circlip out of mainshaft, then check them for
deformation. Replace the washer/circlip if necessary.

Remove the 4th gear from the mainshaft, then check it for wear.
Replace the worn part.
