8.1 No Operation Except Following Cases
You have known and practiced the rules for safe operation of machine in the Operation Manual.
1) Avoid the dangers.
2) Always check before operation.
3) Check the work place.
4) Always perform the function test before operation.
Know and understand the functional test and then perform the next operation.
5) Use the machine only as per the design intent of the machine.
8.2 Basic Principles
1) Functional test is performed to detect faults before starting to use the machine. The operator must
describe all functions of the test machine by step.
2) Don't use faulty machine. If faults are found, the operator must mark the machine and stop using it.
3) Only qualified repair technicians can repair machines as required by the manufacturer.
4) After repair, the operator must perform check and functional test again before continually using the
machine.
8.3 Functional Test
1) Choose a solid, horizontal and unobstructed platform for testing.
8.4 Test on the GCU
1) Pull the red emergency shutdown button on the platform and ground out to the "On" position.
2) Turn the key switch to the GCU.
Result: The LCD screen will light up and show SYSTEM READY.
Note: LCD reading display needs to be preheated before display under cold weather conditions.
3) Start the engine. See the "Operation Instructions".
Test on Emergency Shutdown
1) Push the red emergency shutdown button on the ground inwards to the "Off" position.
Result: The engine will be shut down without running any function.
2) Pull the red emergency shutdown button out to the "On" position and restart the engine.
Test on Ascending/Descending Functions
The audible alarm on the machine and the standard horn is from the same central alarm. The horn
makes a continuous sound. The descending alarm sounds 60 times per minute. The alarm sounds 180
times per minute when the machine is tilted.
1) Don't press the descending and ascending start button. Press and hold the platform ascending
button.
Result: The platform shall not ascend.
2) Press and hold the enabling button with lifting functions. Press and hold the platform ascending
button.
Result: The platform shall ascend.
3) Press and hold the enabling button with lifting functions. Press and hold the platform descending
button.
