15. Using Fixtures
Located on the right side of the console is the fixture editing and programming section. The section
includes dedicated fixture function keys, the banks keys, a LCD display for fixture data, three encoders and
one trackball.
The console can control 128 fixtures (moving lights, scrollers, etc.) with a maximum of 32 parameters per
fixture. Up to 256 total fixture parameters are available.
Once fixtures have been selected and their parameter values edited, the values can be recorded to groups
and cues using the same methods as with channels, see
section 10
and
section 11
, respectively.
The first step to control fixtures is to program the fixture patch, see
section 18.2
. Once the patch
is programmed, the fixtures will be accessible from the keypad.
15.1. Selecting Fixtures
To select a fixture, press [FIXTURE] then use the same selection commands as explained for channels
(see
section 9.3
). For example, pressing [FIXTURE][#][THRU][#] will select a range of fixtures.
In the example below, Fixtures 1 and 2 have been selected and the Color1 parameter is being adjusted:
15.2. Editing Fixture Parameters
Once fixtures have been selected there are various methods for selecting and editing fixture parameters:
To select parameters of selected fixtures, press the
[ ][ ]
keys.
The selected parameter is indicated with a “*” symbol in the
displays.
Use the main or dedicated Encoder wheels to edit selected
parameters. The [ ][ ] keys can also be used
.
When using the dedicated encoders, press the
[ ][ ]
keys to select
parameters then press the encoder wheel to edit the parameter.
It is also possible to access the desired parameter type (category) by
pressing one of the six category keys:[DIM], [POS], [COL], [GOB],
[BEAM] & [XTRA]. See

sections also.
15.2.1. Trackball Functions
Use the Trackball to edit Pan and Tilt parameters of selected fixtures.
The Trackball has six associated function keys ([TB], [FLIP],
[FANOUT], [FINE], [MOUSE] and [CLICK]) that are explained below.
