Replacing the Power button board
Attention:
Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the “Important safety information”
on page v.
This section provides instructions on how to replace the Power button board.
To replace the Power button board, do the following:
1. Turn off the computer and disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets.
2. Remove the computer cover. See “Removing the computer cover” on page 55.
3. Locate the Power button board. See “Locating components” on page 11.
4. Remove the hard disk drive assembly. See “Installing or removing the hard disk drive assembly” on
page 57.
5. Disconnect the Power button board cable from the corresponding connector on the system board.
6. Remove the screw that secures the Power button board to the computer, and then pull the Power
button board to remove it from the computer.
