Leica L5 FL
5
The instrument was tested and certified according to the
applicable standards for electrical lab equipment (DIN EN
61010-1 orUL 3101-1), the 230 V version also in accordance
with the standardfor medical-electrical equipment (DIN EN
60601-1).
Avoid looking directly into the open tensioning sleeve or
the fiber-optics output when the light source is activated.
The Leica L5 FL emits visible light of high intensity. Since
light-absorbing materials have the physical characteristic
of converting incident light into heat, damages may occur to
heat-sensitive or inflammable light-absorbing materials.
To avoid such thermal damages and possible fire hazards or
risk of burns, please observe the following notes:
- Never cover the open tensioning sleeve or the fiber-optics
output (fire hazard)!
- Never cover the open tensioning sleeve or the fiber-optics
output with your hand or another body part (risk of burns)!
- When illuminating heat-sensitive or inflammable light-
absorbing objects (e.g. in microscopy), special attention
should be paid to select a distance of the fiber-optic light
guide and lamp brightness that will not create any thermal
damages to the object.
