S series
The fluorescence attachment contains a filter-slide
housing for two suppression filters. The standard
equipment contains one suppression filter. The
second position can be used for an additional
suppression filter.
Filter-slide housing with filter glass and clear
glass. (The second filter shown is optional).
If only one suppression filter is used, a clear glass
filter must be inserted in the second position. This
glass is required so that the working distance
remains unchanged if the user switches between
fluorescence and bright field application.
The filter-slide housing is mounted on the
stereomicroscope as shown in Fig. 2.
The left side features a threaded hole with
recessed screw that must be tightened
using an Allen key (1.5 mm).
The left holder with the red UV protective filter is
optional. Leica recommends the use of such a filter
to protect the eyes of the observer (Fig. 3).
