Malfunctions and troubleshooting
1.
The camera does not respond when I turn it
on.
1-1 Is the battery correctly inserted or the
mains/charging unit correctly connected?
1-2 Does the battery have sufficient charge? Use a
charged battery.
2.
The camera turns itself off again as soon as I
turn it on.
2-1 Does the battery have sufficient charge to
operate the camera? Charge the battery or
insert a charged battery.
2-2 Is there any condensation? This occurs if the
camera is moved from a cold place to a hot
place. Wait until the condensation has
evaporated.
3.
I cannot save a picture.
3-1 Is a memory card inserted?
3-2 The memory card is full. Delete pictures you no
longer need before you take new ones.
4.
The viewfinder or the monitor remains dark.
4-1 Is the monitor or the viewfinder switched on?
5.
The picture I have just taken is not shown in
the viewfinder or monitor
5-1 Is the
AUTO-REVIEW
function switched on
(when the camera is switched on)?
5-2 When
AUTO-REVIEW
mode has been activated
and the viewfinder switched on has automatic
review been activated to the monitor (
REVIEW
ON LCD
)?
6.
The viewfinder/monitor is too bright or too
dark.
6-1 Set the brightness to your preference.
7.
The picture(s) on the viewfinder/monitor
is/are out of focus.
7-1 Switch on AF macro mode if the subject is less
than 60cm away.
8.
The flash does not work.
8.-1 The flash unit is turned off; select another flash
mode.
9.
I cannot review the picture.
9-1 Is a memory card inserted?
9-2 There is no data on the memory card.
9-3 The record/review selector is not set to one of
the review modes.
10. I cannot view the picture on a television.
10-1 Check whether the television and the camera
are connected correctly.
10-2 Set the television to the AV input to which the
camera is connected.
11.
The camera is connected to a computer but I
cannot transfer data.
11-1 Check whether the computer and the camera
are connected correctly.
12. The date and time are incorrect.
12-1 The camera has not been used for a long period,
particularly if the battery has been removed.
Set the date and time, as soon as the message
PLEASE SET THE CLOCK
appears. f you take
pictures before then, the date and time are
saved as 2003.1.1 00:00.
