For example, if fixtures have seven zones, put all the zones for each fixture on one page of
10 zones. The 3 unused zones on each page would not be patched to DMX.
•
DMX-OUT source: The source of DMX output for the area.
◦
Presets – presets and local controls at the stations. Use this setting when there is no DMX-
IN or no DMX-IN that applies to DMX channels in this area.
◦
DMX-IN-then-presets – When DMX-IN is present, it will be output directly to DMX-OUT.
When not present, presets and local controls determine DMX-OUT. Use this setting to
'pass through' DMX from a lighting console.
2.3.2 DMX-IN table (when applicable)
One universe of DMX can be imported into the station at its DMX-IN input. The imported DMX
channels can override the station's DMX output or can be ignored. DMX-IN can be stored to presets
in a capture-enabled area. See section 2.4.7 for examples on how DMX-IN can be used.
•
on loss of DMX-IN: This determines DMX-OUT when DMX-IN stops.
◦
Last preset – the last active preset and any zone changes made from master up/down
buttons or sliders. (Note that the active preset can be changed by SDE stations while
DMX-IN is being output).
◦
Preset – a specific preset
◦
Hold levels – DMX-OUT is held until a preset or zone control changes. (While DMX-OUT
is being held, the zones tab will show zone levels to be output when the hold ends.)
•
enable capture: This means DMX-IN can be stored to presets. Each zone represents a DMX
channel. All zones in the area must be type 'intensity' and must be patched sequentially to the
DMX channels in the area. Patched DMX channels in a capture-enabled area can overlay
DMX channels in another DMX-IN-then-presets area that is not capture-enabled.
2.3.3 Virtual Buttons table
The virtual buttons are shown on the Presets tab. There are 28 of them. Not all have to be defined but
there must be at least one. Virtual buttons defined by default include all the presets except Full and
Off. Change them as needed.
Virtual button types:
preset: Set the preset name.
o/c wall: Opens or closes a wall. Set the 2 areas to be joined when the wall is closed.
un/lock-remotes: Locks or unlocks remote stations that can be locked.
autoseq on: Starts auto-sequencing.
autoseq off: Ends auto-sequencing.
output: Controls an output. Select the output port and output setting. (Use this with an S-MIO
that has programmed output ports).
occs on/off: Enables or disables all occupancy sensor inputs in this area.
daylts on/off: Enables or disables all daylight sensor inputs for zones in this area.
none: The button is undefined, it will not be shown on the Presets tab.
