Areas and Walls
Area assignment is a way of grouping stations and controls. Stations in the same area are controlled
by one set of preset numbers and are all affected by remote locking, up/down mastering of zones, and
occupancy sensor reporting. Sensors are enabled/disabled per area. The LightsOut function is per
area. Typically, all stations in a room are assigned to the same area.
When areas are separated by a moving wall partition, the wall is identified by the area names it is
between. When walls are opened, areas are combined and area-wide changes made to one area will
apply to all the combined areas.
Auto-sequencing
Auto-sequencing is when presets are activated in sequence, repeatedly. Presets advance from one to
the next according to the fade time set for each preset. The first and last presets are set in the
configuration. Like presets, auto-sequencing is done across an area.
Locking
Locking is used to deny access to stations and to preserve station configuration and preset definitions.

DTM-MA station – Can be access-locked, memory-locked, or not-locked. An access-locked
station will not allow any user input. A memory-locked station will not allow preset
definitions to be changed. A not-locked station does not restrict access or memory changes.
Locked stations can be temporarily unlocked when the correct unlock code is entered at the
station.

SDE remote entry stations – SDE stations in an area may be locked or unlocked if they are
capable of being locked (capability set via jumper, see SDE manual). The buttons on a locked
station are not functional.
Emergency
When Emergency is declared in the DTM system, all emergency-affected zones across all areas are at
full intensity, colored zones are white. This would typically be used in the event of a fire alarm.
Input signals are used to trigger Emergency in the system. One or more input signals, at the DTM-MA
or S-MIO, are programmed to handle emergency input signals. When any emergency inputs are
'active', Emergency is declared. When all are 'inactive', Emergency is cleared.
