Default parameters
For some parameters, default values can be defined centrally and these serve
as reference default values for other parts of the configuration.

Country
The country in which the Access Point is to be operated. This information
is used to define country-specific settings such as the permitted channels,
etc.
WLAN interface 1
Frequency of the first WLAN module. This parameter can also be used to
deactivate the WLAN module.
WLAN interface 2
Frequency of the second WLAN module. This parameter can also be used
to deactivate the WLAN module.
Encryption
Encryption of communications over the control channel. Without encryp-
tion the control data is exchanged as plain text. In both cases authentica-
tion is by certificate.

Inheritance of parameters
A LANCOM WLAN Controller is capable of managing a wide range of different
Access Points at different locations. However, WLAN profiles include settings
that are not equally suitable for every type of Access Point that can be man-
aged. For example, there are differences between the country settings and the
device properties.
