3.6.3.3 Connection
All probes have the same connector and spring-loaded latching mechanism to make
connections to the teslameter easier. When making a connection, the following
points should be considered:
D
The connector is not rotationally-symmetrical, please ensure that the largest
side of the connector is facing upwards.
D
The connector is fully attached when the latching mechanisms on both sides of
the connector click into place.
D
In some situations during connection, EEPROM communication can be inter-
rupted due to a brief break in the electrical connection. This will result in a probe
read error. Unplug the probe from the teslameter and try the connection again. If
the problem persists, please contact Lake Shore Service. As soon as the probe suc-
cessfully connects, field values will be displayed on the screen.
D
Remove the connector by squeezing both sides of the connector to release the
latching mechanism.
D
Probes are hot-swappable (probes can be changed while the teslameter is pow-
ered on).
Once connected, probe information can be viewed on the teslameter.
See section 3.5.1 for more information.
3.6.3.4 Operating Environment
3.6.3.4.1 Temperature
The probe handle and cable can withstand operating and storage temperatures up to
80 °C, and the stem can withstand temperatures to 90 °C.
