NOTE:
When replacing the 30
−
day ULB it is recommended that
new mounting hex screws, MS 16995-54 (L-3AR P/N:
2290200424), are used to ensure a secure connection to
the CSMU.
When replacing the 90-day ULB it is REQUIRED that four
new mounting hex screws, MS 16995-54 (L-3AR P/N:
2290200424), are used to secure the ULB brackets to the
CSMU.
Once a unit has been changed to a 90-day ULB, it
cannot revert back to a 30-day ULB due to the Hardware
MOD-DOT marking.
1.
Remove both 1/4-20 hex-cap screws (1-150) on the left Beacon Mount Bracket
(1-145) using a 3/16” Allen hex-wrench and set the bracket aside.
2.
Loosen the lower screw (1-150) on the right Beacon Mount Bracket (1-145) .
3.
Pull the Beacon(1-155) from the loosened Bracket (1-145).
4.
Remove both screws (1-150) from the right Beacon Mount Bracket (1-145) and
set the bracket aside.
5.
Set the four hex-cap screws(1-150) aside for re-use (only if replacing a 30-day
ULB with another 30-day ULB), or discard the four hex-cap screws that were re-
moved.
