NOTE:
If the version of FA5000 operating software changes,
then checksum value will change. The new checksum
value will be provided in the FSB which documents the
recorder software revision.

Loss of Input Data or Synchronization BIT Check
This procedure verifies the internal Built-In-Test feature of the recorder which will ac-
tivate the FAULT Light after loss of input data or synchronization for 10 seconds or
more.
(1)
At the Test Flight Recorder window, under the Simulated Data block select
the radial button for Fixed Data pattern and click the Start Data button.
(2)
At the Recording block, click the Start Recording button.
(3)
Observe a Record Data pop-up warning window states: “WARNING
−
Record-
ing new data will write over previous recorder flight data.” “Do you wish to con-
tinue?” Click the Yes button.
(4)
Within approximately 15 seconds, observe the Status Window displays: “OK”
“RECORDING” in blue.
(5)
Use the scroll arrows on the right side of the Status Window to view the follow-
ing entries in the Status Window:
Recorder Type = FDR
Last ACID Strap = 128 WPS
Last BIT Synchronize Rate = 128 WPS
Last FDAR Stream Status = Stream Detected
Bit Synchronizer = Locked
Frame Synchronizer = Locked
Data Simulator Active with Fixed Data Pattern @ 64WPS
Last Data Type = Teledyne 717
FDR Max Recording Rate (Matches Recorder Type)
717 Data Simulator Acting with Fixed Data Pattern is Active
FDR Fault
