NOTE:
To make viewing information in the lower part of the
Status Window easier, click the “Pause” button to
freeze the information in the status window. Click the
“Resume” button to continue with recorder status up-
dates every 15 seconds.

At the Simulated Data block, click the Stop Data button.

Observe a Simulate Data pop-up warning window states: “WARNING

simulation will be terminated.” “Do you wish to continue?” Click the Yes but-
ton.

Within approximately 15 seconds, observe that the Status Window displays:
“FAULT” “RECORDING” in red.

Note the following entries in the Status Window:
Bit Synchronizer = Search
Frame Synchronizer = Search
FDR Non‐Latched Fault
717 Data Simulator Stopped
FDR Fault

18 = Open)
NOTE:
FDR Non

Latched Fault entry is normal because the
data has stopped and the recorder is still in the RE-
CORD mode of operation.
(10) Restart data by clicking the Start Data Button. Within 15 seconds the status
window display “OK” “RECORDING” in Blue.
(11) At the Simulated Data block, click the Stop Data button.
(12) Observe a Simulate Data pop-up warning window states: “WARNING

(13) At the Recording block, click the Stop Recording button.
(14) Observe a Record Data pop-up warning window states: “WARNING

(15) Observe that the Status Window displays: “FAULT” “NOT RECORDING” in
Red.
(16) Proceed with the Autotest.
