(2) Adjusting the position of the duplex eject switching solenoid

Follow the procedure below after replacing the duplex eject switching solenoid or if paper jams frequently in the duplex
section.

Procedure

1. Open the front cover and pull out the duplex

unit.

2. Remove the four screws holding the duplex

cover and then the cover.

3. Loosen the screw securing the duplex eject

switching solenoid.

4. Adjust the position of the duplex eject

switching solenoid so that the gap between
the switchback feedshift guide and the duplex
refeed guide is between 2.5 and 3.0 mm
when the plunger of the duplex eject
switching solenoid is pushed (solenoid: on).

5. Tighten the screw of the duplex eject

switching solenoid.

6. Refit all the removed parts.
