(3) Detaching and refitting the laser scanner unit
Follow the procedure below to replace the laser scanner unit.
Caution
After replacing the laser scanner unit, make a test copy and check the copy image. If the image is incorrect, proceed to
“(6) Adjusting scanner image lateral squareness (reference)”.
Procedure
1. Remove the DF, upper rear cover, middle rear
C cover, developing duct cover, upper right
cover, upper left cover and contact glass.
2. Remove the operation unit (see page 1-6-22).
3. Remove the three screws and then remove
the right scanner reinforcement.
4. Disconnect the two connectors CN14 and
CN15 on the main PCB.
5. Disconnect the two connectors CN1 and CN6
on the scanner drive PCB.
