Option 1 - Mounting the Sensor to a Horizontal Surface
1. Choose a mounting location based upon the
guidelines in “Choosing the Best Location for the
GyroTrac Sensor” on page 14.
2. Orient the sensor so that the forward reference on
the end cap is pointed forward and is parallel to
the vessel’s fore-and-aft axis (to ±5°). The proper
orientation is illustrated in Figure 2-10.
3. Position the horizontal sensor bracket so that the
sensor module will be properly oriented when
placed in the bracket.
4. Using the holes in the bracket feet as a template,
mark locations for the four mounting screws.
Center punch and drill the four holes with a
