- File a flat „F“ in the output shaft of the electric motor
2.1 as shown to accept the grub screw in the
coupling. Tape over the motor cooling slots before
filing.
- Attach the suppressors to the electric motor 2.1 as
follows: solder one pin of each capacitor 2.2 to the
motor can, after filing the metal surface perfectly
clean. Fit an insulating sleeve 2.3 on each of the
second pins and push them through the motor
terminals.
- Fit insulating sleeves 2.3 on both pins of capacitor
2.4 and fit the pins through the motor terminals in
the same way.
- Solder the motor power cables 2.5 to the motor
terminals, soldering the capacitor pins in place at the
same time.
- Locate the plug 2.6 which mates with the speed
controller socket and attach it to the motor power
cables.
- Push the water cooling coil 2.7 onto the motor can,
and position the ends as shown in the illustration.
- Cut the short retaining hoses 2.9 from the cooling
hose material. Cut the cooling hoses 2.8 to length,
and push retaining hoses 2.9 over one end of each.
- Push the cooling hoses onto the ends of the cooling
coil and slide the retaining hoses 2.9 over the joints
to prevent them from slipping off.
- Choose the correct motor bulkhead 2.10 for your
motor and varnish it to make it water tight.
- Sand the edges of the motor bulkhead well.
- Fix the motor bulkhead 2.10 to the motor using the.
screws 2.11 and washers 2.12.
- Fit a grub screw 2.14 in the coupling element 2.13.
Slide part 2.13 on the motor output shaft and tighten
the grub screw to secure it. Check that the grub
screw engages on the flat ‘F’ in the shaft.
