system, by a fall arrester system or a second system compliant with the EN12841 standard. The user (or a third party) applies pressure on the soft
strand of the rope to lift or lower the user. The pressure applied is proportional to the user’s weight. The user stops as soon as the soft strand of the rope
is released; simply pull on the rope to release the locking mechanism and continue the descent or ascent. In this type of use, make sure the hoisting is
correctly implemented (no intersecting ropes) via double pulleys such as FA 70 017 00 or FA 70 017 01 (EN12278); a double figure-8 knot must be made
on the lower double pulley. The user must be connected to the system via the ventral point of a fall arrest harness.
User weight:
55kg min - 140kg max
The TYROLL system will be connected to an anchorage point via a connector (EN362); the device’s anchorage point must be positioned above the user
and comply with standard EN 795 (minimum resistance: R>12kN – EN 795:2012), while the other end will be connected to the attachment point of a
harness (EN361-EN358-EN813). The device cannot be used horizontally.
Do not go above the highest anchorage point of the system.
Sharp edges, small diameter structures and corrosion should be avoided as they may affect the performance of the rope; or it should be adequately
protected.
Ensure that the general set-up limits swinging in the event of a fall, and that the work is performed to limit the risk and the height of a fall.
For safety reasons and before each use, make sure that, in case of a fall, there are no obstacles to prevent the normal movement of the rope.
The clearance must be at least: 1.8 m beneath the user’s feet*.
*: For safety reasons, it is essential to check the clearance on the work site before each use and during use, to be sure that there will be no collision with
the ground or an obstacle in the event of a fall. Please pay special attention to moving obstacles (e.g. a lorry or a cherry picker, etc.).
Use the product at a temperature of: -30°C to 50°C.
Before and during use, we recommend that you make the necessary arrangements for a safe rescue, should this be required.
This equipment must only be used by trained, competent and healthy persons or under the supervision of a trained and competent person.
Warning!
Certain medical conditions may affect user safety, if in doubt please contact your doctor.
Be aware of the hazards that could reduce the performance of your equipment and therefore the user’s safety: if exposed to extreme temperatures (<
-30°C or > 50°C), prolonged exposure to the elements (UV rays, moisture), chemical agents, electrical constraints, twisting of the fall arrest system
during use, sharp edges, friction or cutting, etc.
Before each use, check
that the locking system is in working order; to do this, make a locking attempt at a very low height (a few tens of cm) by
simulating a fall (locking cannot be verified with the hands alone). Check that the rope is not cut, frayed, burnt or worn. Check that the metal parts
(anchoring and attachment) are not deformed or oxidised, and check that the connectors are working properly (locking/opening). Casings, protective
covers as well as all screws must be in place and undamaged. The markings must remain legible. If there is any doubt as to the condition of the device,
or after a fall, it must not be reused (marking it with the words “DO NOT USE” is recommended) and must be returned to the manufacturer or to a
qualified person appointed by the manufacturer.
Do not remove, add or replace any component of the product.
Chemicals: Put the system out of service if it comes into contact with chemicals, solvents or fuels which could affect its operation.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
FA 20 800 00 pulley-clamp: Material: Polyester/Aluminium/Steel - Breaking strength > 15kN
FA 70 010 99 kernmantle rope: Material: Polyamide - Breaking strength > 15 kN - Diameter: 10.5 mm.
COMPATIBILITY FOR USE:
The device is for use with a fall arrest system as defined in the product data sheet (see standard EN363) to guarantee that the dynamic force exerted on the
user during the arrest of a fall is no greater than 6 kN. A fall arrest harness (EN361) is the only body support device that may be used. It can be dangerous
to create one’s own fall protection system in which each safety function can interfere with another safety function. Therefore, it is important to read the
recommendations on using each component in the system before use.
INSPECTION:
The product is expected to withstand 10 years of use, but it may last a longer or shorter time depending on how it is used and/or the result of annual
checks.
The equipment must be systematically checked if in doubt or after a fall and at least every twelve months by the manufacturer or a competent person*
and in strict compliance with the manufacturer’s periodic examination procedures (and in particular the Inspection Guides ref. GI XX-XXXXXX-XX),
in order to ensure its strength and therefore the safety of the user. We recommend that routine inspections are documented using an inspection report
and photographs.
The product identification sheet should be completed (in writing) after each verification. The date of inspection and date of the next inspection must be
indicated on the identification sheet. It is also recommended to put the date of the next inspection on the product.
*: refer to the definition of a competent person on our website under: Info/Technical advice section.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE:
(These instructions must be strictly observed)
During transportation, keep the equipment away from any cutting edges and keep it in its packaging. Clean with water, wipe with a cloth and hang in a
ventilated room to dry naturally, ensuring that it is away from any direct light or source of heat; the same applies for elements that may have become wet
during use. The system must be stored in its packaging in a cool, dry and ventilated room.
