Enter the inverter’s RS485
address. This must be unique
for each device and must not
already exist.
If using Unit ID, the default
value 71 should be used. This
is assigned in the inverter in
the Modbus settings.

Add more inverters using the same function. Ensure
that the value for the Unit ID or RS485 address is
different for each inverter.

Press “OK” button to accept settings.

The inverters have been set up in the KOSTAL Smart
Energy Meter.
For PIKO IQ/PLENTICORE, the Modbus protocol must
be activated to enable communication between the
KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter and KOSTAL solar inverter.
Activating Modbus protocol
With PIKO IQ/PLENTICORE, the Modbus / SunSpec
(TCP) protocol must be activated from the following
menu item:
Settings > Modbus / SunSpec (TCP)
> Activate Modbus.
No further settings are required with the PIKO 4.2-20,
PIKO EPC and PIKO MP plus inverters.
