Actual Dynamic Public IP Address with DDNS hostname setting
In this working example we have Standalone DVR connecting to ADSL modem straight
forward.
Our ISP provider (Hinet LTD Company in Taiwan) provides us a dynamic public IP
address (this public IP address will always changes that it never be the same).
Therefore once we applied a DDNS hostname from those DDNS Company such as
www.dyndns.org
. We can apply this DDNS hostname to this dynaminc Public IP
address then users can link to this dynamic public IP address by simply typing the
DDNS hostname.
Conditions to satisfy this setting:
1. You have a dynamic public IP address
2. You have a DDNS hostname. (See Remark.2 to apply a DDNS hostname)
Setting steps in Standalone DVR:
1. Select “PPPoE” for “Net Type”
2. Enter your “Username” and “Password” which you get from ISP provider to access
to Internet.(For example our ISP provider Hinet Company give us the username
and password 021XXX to access to internet)
3. Select “DynDNS Dynamic” for “DDNS Type”.
4. Enter a DDNS hostname you applied from DDNS Company.
5. Enter your “DDNS Username” (your DDNS account login name)
6. Enter your “DDNS Password” (your DDNS account login password)
