the line connecting the two setout points. The distance D1 is calculated using this
assumption. Next a second point on the batter board is measured. From now on the
distance D1 will be calculated using the correct orientation of the batterboard.D1
will now be more precise.
2)
The error message „Invalid value ‟is shown if the batter board and the line
connecting the two setout points are parallel.
3)
The coordinates of the calculated intersection point are recorded in the coordinate
file. The number of this intersection point is, compared to the highest existing
number, incremented buy one.
13.6 TAPE DIMENSIONS
Tape dimensions is a program which integrates surveying using a total station and a
measuring tape. This program is especially useful when a quick survey of an object is
required. It is assumed that all angles of this object are rectangular.
Example: measure an object by TAPE DIM. Two corners of the object are measured
using the total station and a reference line is defined. Next the other sides of the object
are measured using a measuring tape. When the last side is measured, the closing error
will be shown.
