High D-Min
Film aged or not stored properly.
Run transport test to process film
without imaging. If film is bad,
advise customer of storage and
usage procedures of film.
Printing all black films.
Memory SIMM in wrong socket
U7.
Check CPU BOARD. If only one
SIMM is installed, it must be in
lower socket U8.
Top 1/2 to 1 inch of the film
appears lighter in density.
FELT STRIPPER PAD is loose
from metal BACKING PLATE or
metal BACKING PLATE is bowed
in the middle. This allows leading
edge of film to bump into FELT
PAD, causing film to hop. This
condition causes the leading
edge of the film to cool at a faster
rate than rest of film, resulting in
light density.
1. If FELT PAD has started to
detach, install a new FELT PAD
ASSEMBLY.
2. If metal BACKING PLATE is
bowed in the middle, remove
PAD ASSEMBLY and gently
re-form so it lays flat when
connected to the STRIPPER
ASSEMBLY.
Top 4 inches of each film is
lighter in density or there is a light
density band on the top 3/4 inch
of the film.
Film exiting the PROCESSOR is
not uniformly cooled. Film does
not stay in contact with lower
FELT STRIPPER PAD.
Install a new lower FELT
STRIPPER PAD 78-8113-2069-2,
if not installed in this IMAGER.
Faint scuff-type scratches on the
lower 3 inches of film.
The weight of the FILM FEED
ROLLER causes the film being
fed to scrape on the surface of
the film below it.
Replace the FILM FEED
ROLLER. The new ROLLERS
are lighter weight.
Long scratches in various
locations on the film.
Dirt and debris are built up in the
film path.
Check and clean, as necessary,
in order:
1. 2-part GUIDE ASSEMBLY
that guides film from FILM
TRAY into SEPARATOR
ASSEMBLY.
2. Stainless steel SCOOP that
guides film from SEPARATOR
ASSEMBLY to imaging area.
3. Front edge of FILM TRAY that
film moves over when it
leaves TRAY.
4. GUIDE PLATES that make up
the DENSITOMETER.
5. PLATES that guide film into
PROCESSOR ASSEMBLY
and hold the PROCESSOR
ENTRANCE SWITCH.
