at a safe distance from the exhaust system and first open the side gate where particulate filter (DPF) and
catalyst (SCR) are found. When you park for regeneration through the DPF regeneration start switch, try to
find a clear spot where there is no flammable element nearby.
(2) Active regeneration in second level
(3) Active regeneration in third level
Note:
at this level of dirt from the particle filter(DPF), it will be impossible to perform the regeneration by
rolling on the road with the engine working at high rate. It will be necessary parking the vehicle and pressing
the DPF regeneration start switch.
If instead of performing active regeneration as
described in the preceding paragraph, (that is to
say, we do not park the vehicle to press the
regeneration start switch nor do we drive the
vehicle on the highway looking for a sustained
slope for the engine to work at high load rate),
continue driving with the yellow regeneration
sign on, it will start blinking and the motor starts
to rate.
At this point we will have 1-2 hours to force the
regeneration following any of the two
procedures described in the preceding previous.
If we still use the vehicle without forcing the
regeneration on the particle filter (DPF), this
will continue to get dirty and there will come a
time when we move to a third level, where in
addition to blinking the yellow regeneration
sign, a yellow motor failure indicator will light.
In this situation, the engine will have prorated
already severely and we will have to force an
active regeneration in the particulate filter. It
can only be done by parking the vehicle and
pressing the regeneration start switch.
