SERIES CONNECTION, MASTER/SLAVE OPERATION
Two or more BOP power supplies can be connected in series to increase output voltage. One
series-connection limitation is the isolation limit of the BOP itself (500V); contact Kepco if more
than three units is series are required. Figure 3-24 shows a master/slave connection of two BOP
power supplies.

To extend the concept of series connection to more than two BOP units, refer to FIG. 3-24. The
BOP unit now designated the SLAVE becomes the new MASTER for the next BOP unit to be
added and so on, up to the desired number of BOP’s in series. Simply place the BOP outputs in
series and connect a further coupling resistor (R
