4 - Body fat adjustment. Option 4 of the main menu.
4.0 - Impedance test
The estimation of the body fat index made by the unit is the result of a complex calculation in which the measurements of
weight, height,
bioelectrical impedance
, age and sex among other data are combined.
To measure the
bioelectrical impedance
the unit has got 4 contacts located on both sides of the unit. These contacts are the
responsible of measuring the resistance of the body to the passage of an electrical current, that is to say, the
bioelectrical
impedance.
The impedance test allows the verification of the correct measurement of the impedance made by the unit. For this puspose,
you must place special connectors that allow the connection of resistors of known value and verify if the measurement
made by the unit is correct.

This option measures the impedance continuously. The display
shows the value in Ohms and internal counting of the converter.
Place different resistors of a known value and verify that the unit
measures them corectly with +/- 5%. Use resistors between 300
and 800 Ohms, ¼ W, 1%.

4.1 - Calibration of the body fat system
To calibrate the system, you need 2 resistors of 390 and 750 ohms, ¼ W, 1%, as precise as possible.
Proceed as follows:

Connect the two ends of the connectors so that the resistance is 0.
