About the AUDIO-TV switch
With the remote control supplied with this unit, you can also operate
a JVC or other manufacturer’s TV.
To operate this unit,
set the AUDIO-TV switch to “AUDIO.”
To operate a TV,
set the AUDIO-TV switch to “TV.”
To operate another manufacturer’s TV, you need to set the
appropriate manufacturer’s code on the remote control (see page 83
for details).
Connecting Antennas
FM antenna

Attach the FM antenna to the FM (75
Ω
)
COAXIAL terminal.

Extend the FM antenna.

Fasten it up in a position which gives you the best
reception, then attach it to the wall.
About the supplied FM antenna
The FM antenna supplied with this unit can be used as a temporary measure.
If reception is poor, you can connect an outdoor FM antenna.
Getting Started
Unpacking
After unpacking, be sure that you have all the following items.
The number in parentheses indicates the quantity of each piece
supplied.
• FM antenna (1)
• AM loop antenna (1)
• Speaker cords (2)
• Composite video cord (1)
• Remote control (1)
• Batteries (2)
If any item is missing, consult your dealer immediately.
Putting the Batteries into the Remote Control
Insert the batteries—R6UW/2STS—into the remote control by
matching the polarity (+ and –) on the batteries with the + and –
marking on the battery compartment.
When the remote control can no longer operate the unit, replace both
batteries at the same time.
• DO NOT use an old battery together with a new
one.
• DO NOT use different types of batteries
together.
• DO NOT expose batteries to heat or flame.
• DO NOT leave the batteries in the battery
compartment when you are not going to use the
remote control for an extended period of time.
Otherwise, the remote control will be damaged
from battery leakage.
