To increase the sound level for DVD VIDEO playback
automatically
The DVD VIDEO’s audio sound is sometimes recorded at a lower
level than for other discs such as VCDs or CDs.
If you have adjusted the volume level for a DVD VIDEO, the output
sound may be unexpectedly loud when you start playing back a disc
other than DVD VIDEO.
To avoid this inconvenience, this unit is preset to increase the sound
level for DVD VIDEO playback automatically—the initial setting is
“DVD LEVEL NORMAL” (off).
• This function only works for software containing more than
3-channel surround.
• This function does not affect any discs other than DVD VIDEO.
• This function does not affect the audio output level through the
OPTICAL DIGITAL OUTPUT terminal.
On the remote control ONLY:
To turn on and off the function,
press DVD LEVEL
during play.
• Each time you press the button, the setting and its
indicator change and appear on the display as follows:
• DVD LEVEL MIDDLE:
Increases the sound output level a little.
• DVD LEVEL HIGH:
Increases the sound output level even more than “DVD
LEVEL MIDDLE.”
• DVD LEVEL NORMAL:
Original sound output level recorded on DVD VIDEO.
Turning off (on standby) the unit or changing the source to play also
turns off the function.
