4.7.3. Refueling
Refueling is done by switching the engine to maintenance mode. This
will extend the engine to the correct position for refueling. The fuel is
pumped through a quick connector fitting located on the left side of the
engine box. The fuel quantity for the bottom tanks can be read on the
“Maintenance page” while refueling. For the top tank a visual
inspection of the tank is required to determine if the tank is full. The
top tank is situated behind the main spar. If the system is overfilled,
fuel will dump out of the vent located on the bottom of the fuselage,
behind the main wheel.
CAUTION:
Keep the Jet system powered up while refueling, to avoid
the pylon moving unintentionally.
CAUTION:
Ensure the correct fuel pre-mix with the correct oil is
used. Incorrect fuel may destroy the engine.
CAUTION:
Only use a refuel system approved by JS. A pressure
exceeding 0.3 bar will damage the fuel tanks.
CAUTION:
Ensure proper filters are used during refueling. Fuel
contamination may cause engine failures.
CAUTION:
Do not switch the system OFF and back ON while
refueling. The pylon will be automatically retracted when
powered ON. The refueling pipes may cause damage to
the bay doors while extending or retracting the pylon.
