If Solid-State starter ( Siemens ):
When the soft-starter is powered, it automatically detects the connection of the motor
(
IN DELTA or IN LINE ). In the Configuration menu, the Rated Amps parameter
will indicate the type of connection of the motor
Exemple: 30 HP 600 volts 32 amps motor
Rated Amps = 32A IN LINE
Rated Amps = 18.48A IN DELTA (32 amps ÷ 1.732 = 18.48 amps)
In the Parameter menu, adjust the following 2 parameters:
•
Overload Amps , enter the rated motor current ( FLA ) from the motor’s
nameplate.
•
Starting Amps, enter 4x the value of the Overload Amps parameter.
Exemple: 30 HP 600 volts 32 amps motor
➔
32 X 4 = 128 Amps.
It is very important to validate the 2 parameters above, depending on the
connection of the motor, the soft-starter processor could automatically change
these downwards.
If the UTS output takes too much time to activate when starting the pump, check
the Starting Amps parameter.
C. Connect pumping unit to the controller (pump motor, valve, etc...)
D. Connect the main power supply to L1, L2 and L3 terminals from the main switch.
Remove the 3 fuses and measure the voltage.
