Charging batteries
The main battery needs to be charged before you can use it to power the
computer. You can charge the battery using your computer.
Charging the main battery
To charge the main battery while it is in your computer, plug the computer into a
live AC outlet. It takes about 2.5 hours to charge the battery to full while the
computer is off. It takes much longer to charge the battery to full while the
computer is on.
TECHNICAL NOTE: The battery only can charge a small current
while the computer Is consuming full power.
The battery may not start charging immediately if:

The battery is extremely hot or cold.
To ensure that the battery charges to its full capacity, wait until it reaches
room temperature: 5°C to 35°C. (41°F to 95°F).

The battery is almost completely discharged.
Leave the power connected, and the battery should begin charged after a
few minutes.
HINT: Once a battery pack is fully charged, we recommend that
you operate your computer on battery power until the battery pack
discharges completely. Doing this extends battery life and helps
ensure accurate monitoring of battery capacity.
