4.11 Adjusting Rear Wheel Camber
Camber Tube with Single Camber
The axle tube must be replaced to change the camber. Refer to 5.11
Replacing Axle Tube, page 55 .
Adjustable Camber System
–
Perform this procedure to one side of the wheelchair
at a time for ease of adjustment.
–
Before using the wheelchair, make sure both camber
inserts are set to the same indexing mark. This will
make sure the distance between the rear wheel and
the wheelchair is the same on both sides.
1.
Open the camber clamp

2.
Pull one rear wheel with camber insert

out of axle tube

3.
Remove the rear wheel from the camber insert

4.
Rotate the camber insert
B
180°.
5.
Reinstall the rear wheel into the camber insert
B
.
WARNING!
–
NEVER position the camber inserts in the axle
tube with more than 3-inches (7.62 cm) (12
indexing marks showing) of the camber insert
outside of the axle tube.
–
The camber inserts will not be securely tightened
in the axle tube. Possible injury to the user and/or
damage to the wheelchair may occur.
6.
Position the camber insert

there is no more than 3 inches (7.62 cm) (12 indexing marks

7.
Slide the indexing ring

until it is flush
with the camber clamp

8.
Close the camber clamp

9.
Repeat STEPS 1-8 for opposite side of wheelchair.
10. Install rear wheel to the wheelchair. Refer to 5.7
Removing/Installing Rear Wheels, page 52 .
11. Adjust toe in/toe out of wheelchair. Refer to 4.13 Adjusting Toe
In/Toe Out, page 39.
4.12 Determining Toe In/Toe Out
1.
Inflate all pneumatic tyres to recommended tyre pressures (listed
on the sidewall of the tire).
2.
Measure the distance between the centerlines

at the rear and
front of the rear wheels at approximately 12 inches (30.48 cm)
from the ground/floor.
–
For optimum accuracy, perform STEP 2 with the
wheelchair occupied.
