About Windows
®
activation
• After turning on the NVS-7.7 for the very first
time, you must activate Windows
®
within 30
days. If you don’t activate it, once the 30 days
is up, you will no longer be able to use Win-
dows
®
and the activation window will appear.
Follow the instructions on the window to acti-
vate your copy of Windows
®
(page 34).
Changing the SigmaTel Audio settings has
no effect
• The SigmaTel Audio settings do not affect the
2CH AUDIO OUT.
• Some SigmaTel Audio settings only affect the
analog multichannel output or the digital
audio outputs (page 42 to page 45).
Windows
®
SigmaTel Audio
Onkyo is not responsible for damages (such as CD
rental fees) due to unsuccessful recordings caused by
the unit’s malfunction. Before you record important
data, make sure that the material will be recorded cor-
rectly.
The NVS-7.7 contains a microcomputer for signal pro-
cessing and control functions. In very rare situations,
severe interference, noise from an external source, or
static electricity may cause it to lockup. In the unlikely
event that this happens, unplug the power cord from the
wall outlet, wait at least five seconds, and then plug it
back in again.
