Option 2: Cable or Satellite Set-top Box
If you have a cable or satellite set-top box, use an S-Video cable (recommended) or composite video
cable to feed the video signal to the NVS-7.7’s S VIDEO or VIDEO IN.
You’ll also need to connect an audio cable from the set-top box’s audio output jacks to the AUDIO IN
L/R jacks on the NVS-7.7.
Notes:
• Connecting a cable or satellite set-top box to
the NVS-7.7 with a coaxial cable (RF) is not
recommended because passing the TV signal
through the set-top box’s tuner may degrade
the picture quality.
• The quality of the cable used to connect the
video source to the NVS-7.7 can affect the pic-
ture quality, so use the best quality video
cables you can afford.
• With this connection, you must configure the
TV settings in the Media Center Setup Wizard
(see page 36).
To listen to FM radio, connect an indoor or outdoor FM antenna to the CATV/TV(NTSC)/FM jack. if
you already have a TV antenna or cable connected to this jack, use a commercially available antenna
combiner.
