With no rear wheel the frame and/or the gear mechanism can become damaged. After
removing the rear wheel lie the bike on its left side or use a suitable assembly stand.
WHEELS FITTING
Fit the rear wheel first.
a. Disk brakes: first remove the transportation wedges between the brake calipers
b. Lift up the bike rear, placing the rear wheel under it so that the chain is over the smallest
sprocket.
c. Position the wheel gently until the axis reaches into the fork mounting channels.
d. Disk brakes: Insert the road wheel so that the brake disk can be easily pushed between the
brake pads.
e. Carefully lower the rear of the bike until the axle is at the dropout stop on the right and left
sides.
f. Tighten the quick release - see chapter
“Quick release use”
Front wheel fitting
a. Disk brakes: first remove the transportation wedges between the brake calipers
b. Lift up the bike by the handlebars, placing the front wheel under the front forks dropouts
c. For disc brakes: Attach the wheel in such a way that the disc brakes are able to move freely
between the brake pads.
d. Carefully lower the forks until the axle is flush at the dropout stops on the right and left sides.
For rim brakes for repositioning the
“J” guide, approach the brake arms and introduce “J”
guide in the yoke.
After installing the wheels, check the operation of the brakes (pull the brake levers a few times) then
spin the wheel and see how it moves regarding brake shoes / discs (there must be no friction between
shoes and wheels or between the brake pads and discs). If this friction appears, release the
“quick
release
” and redo the wheel fixing in the fork. If the operation fails consult a specialist.
