The actual permissible tyre pressure can be found in the tyre and rim manufacturer
’s
instructions. The permissible tyre pressure is mostly embossed on the tyre wall. Please
consult your dealer.
If you weight more also the tyre pressure must be higher.
Check tyre pressure with a pressure gauge (available from your dealer). If pressure is too low,
increase it using a pump if the pressure is too high reduce it releasing air through the valve. By
using a built in-gauge pump you can control pressure while performing tyre inflation.
There are many kinds of valves for bicycle tubes. The types of valve are: valve Auto
(Schrader or Auto Valve), French valve (Presta or French Valve) and valve Classic
(Dunlop Valve).
3. External tyres check
Lift and turn the wheel slightly to check the tyre. Look on the sides and on the running way
around the circumference. The tyre must have the same look everywhere, no swelling, no
texture in the rubber and free of broken or detached material from the rubber mass.
Simultaneously you need to check that the tyre rim is uniform around the circumference.
SADDLE AND SEAT POST CHECK
If the saddle post is not inserted far enough the saddle post can come loose. This can lead
to hazardous riding situations, falling, accidents and material damage.
1. Check tightening of seat post in frame
Try to twist the saddle and seat post by hand. It
should not be possible to twist the saddle and/or
seat post.
2. Check the saddle fixing on the seat post
Try to move the saddle in its clamp with alternate
up and down movements. It should not be
possible to move the saddle.
