Getting Started

1.1 Introduction

The Transpector

®

MPS Gas Analysis System is a quadrupole-based mass

spectrometer Residual Gas Analysis (RGA) instrument designed for use in high
vacuum environments for monitoring trace contaminants and process gases.
Transpector MPS runs with the Windows

®

operating system using either a member

of the FabGuard

®

suite of programs or the Transpector Web UI onboard web

server.

This chapter provides an overview of the Transpector MPS Gas Analysis System.
Topics include: the purpose of Transpector MPS, its specifications, a list of
supplied items, installation instructions and customer support contact information.

Software information can be found either in the FabGuard Explorer operating
manual (PN 074-528) or in the FabGuard help files (for all other FabGuard
programs). Instructions for use of the Transpector Web UI are provided in
Chapter 5.
