How to Configure the ASI Interface as the Input Source
Use this procedure when the ASI input interface carries an encrypted input.
1
Specify the ASI interface as the input.
Configuration > DMX > Input = ASI
The module now uses the signal on the ‘ASI’ interface as input.
See
How to Configure Transport Stream Output
on page 19 for additional
configurations steps required to decode or to pass through the incoming signal.
How to Configure Transport Stream Output
Use this procedure to specify whether the module should pass through a complete
multi-program transport stream, or if it should extract a single-program transport stream.
1
Select the output type.
Choose
All
to indicate the entire transport stream is to pass through.
Configuration > DMX > Output = All
Choose
Program
to extract only a particular program from the MPTS.
Configuration > DMX > Output = Program
2
Specify the program number of the program to extract, or alternatively, enter a negative
value to specify the PAT index of the program to extract.
Configuration > DMX > Program Number = 1
(where 1 is the program number)
or
Configuration > DMX > Program Number = -1
(where -1 is the index)
3
Specify the stream’s
Output Rate
.
Specify
0
if the stream is variable bit rate (VBR).
Configuration > DMX > Output Rate = 0
Specify a value (in Mbps) if you know the transport stream’s rate.
Configuration > DMX > Output Rate = 214
BISS-encrypted streams require a few additional steps for decoding. See
Additional Steps
Required for a BISS-Encrypted Stream
on page 19 (below) for details.
Additional Steps Required for a BISS-Encrypted Stream
Specify the following additional parameters for a BISS-encrypted transport stream.
Configuration > BISS
