BS-79
1.
OVERVIEW
1.1
Overview
The BS-79 is a half-rack-sized HDTV base station that fits
into the space of half a 19-inch rack.
The BS-79 uses an 8-core optical fiber camera cable (two
single-mode fibers, four power lines, and two control lines).
It can transmit video and audio signals with optical serial
digital transmission conforming to SMPTE 292M
(international standard) over distances of up to 1000 m with
no degradation in high-quality image provided from the
camera head.
Basic configuration of this unit includes down converter (D/
C) and up converter (U/C) modules and a power supply.
1.2
Characteristics
Being half-rack size, yet supporting simulcast
As a result of reviewing the circuit configuration and parts to
reduce the size, the BS-79 contains up and down converters
within its half-rack size, which implements HD and SD
simulcast output.
<1>
Allows simultaneous output of HD SDI, SD D1, and
SD ENC.
<2>
Can select HD SDI, SD D1, or SD composite as the
RET input (when the RET module is selected)
<3>
Also allows monitoring with WFM and PM for SD
when the main line is for HD (when the SD module
is selected)
Capable of DC operation
Sup12 VDC to the BS-79 can also drive the camera
head.
This function allows operation using +12 V supplied from
ordinary vehicles to provide mobility.
Aspect ratio conversion by the down converter (D/C)
The internal down converter (D/C) has an aspect ratio
conversion function. There are three types of modes: side
panel mode, squeeze mode, and letter box.
Choice of external synchronization signal
You can select 525/59.94 BBS or 1080/59.94 PS/S as the
external synchronization input.
