SELECT THE APPROPRIATE TEMPERATURE RANGE AND SET EMISSIVITY
BEFORE CAPTURING MEDIA OR PERFORMING THERMAL ANALYSIS.
8-14 Real-time Thermal Analysis
8-14-1 Temperature Range
The default temperature scale of the device is -40 °C to 150 °C (-40 °F to 302 °F).
Other temperature calibrations may also be available. Change the temperature
scale as follows:
1.
Using the touchscreen, tap the Temperature Scale icon. A rotary menu
appears.
2. Press up or down on the Thumbstick to select a temperature scale. Selecting
Auto will cause the device to automatically adjust to the temperatures
detected in the scene.
3. Press the Back button to exit the rotary menu.

8-14-2 Emissivity
To more accurately measure materials with a low emissivity, an emissivity
correction is necessary. The emissivity displays on the LCD screen in the upper
right corner as E=x.xx.
Change the emissivity as follows:
1.
Using the touchscreen, tap the emissivity value. Emissivity Menu appears.
2. Choose an option:
•
Press up or down on the Thumbstick to select a programmed emissivity
value from the Material list, or
•
Tap Custom; then, press down on the Thumbstick button to increase
the emissivity value; press up on the Thumbstick button to decrease
the emissivity value. A list of common emissivity values appears on
the next page.
3. Press the Back button to exit the Emissivity Menu.
