ESCON Channel feature
The ESCON channel delivers up to 17 MB/sec link data rate to servers, switches,
control units and storage devices. ESCON channels can coexist with FICON on all
z10 BC server models.
The z10 BC system uses the 16 port ESCON feature. Fifteen of the ports are used.
The sixteenth port is reserved as a spare.
