Expansion Unit Option Switches

Tray number switch

The expansion unit has two types of ID numbers:
Drive SCSI IDs
Identifies each drive in the
expansion unit.
Tray ID
identifies each expansion unit
Switch settings are as follows:
Option Switches
–
Switch 1 off (default)
-
Bus 1 and 2 as Single Bus 1, accessing all
ten drives, (IDs 0-4 and 8-12).
–
Switch 1 on
-
Bus 1 and Bus 2 accessing 5 drives each.
Bus 1 accessing IDs 0-4
Bus 2 accessing IDs 0-4
–
Switch 5 off (default)
-
Rack Mode
–
Switch 5 on

Tower Mode
When Option Switch 5 is in the On position,
two changes occur. First, the SCSI ID
ordering is reversed, providing IDs in
ascending order from top to bottom.
Second, the general system error indicator
on the front panel is swapped with the
power-on LED, placing the green power-on
LED above the general-system error
indicator.

Switches 2 through 4 are reserved and must
remain off.
Tray Number Switch
–
Identifies each expansion unit 0-9.
