11.4 Inspecting the Interior
Turn the power OFF. Remove the belt cover and pulley cover, and visually inspect the interior.
For the internal inspection, the following items should be confirmed.
The belt cover can be removed with the hexagon wrench with the distance to the opposite side of 2 mm and pulley cover
with the hexagon wrench with the distance to the opposite side of 2 mm or 1.5 mm.
Make a visual check of the interior to see if there is any dust or foreign matter in the unit and check the lubrication.
Even if the grease you see around the parts is brown, the lubrication is fine as long as the travelling surface appears shiny.
When the grease looks dirty and dull due to dust or wore due to the use for a long time, replenish grease after cleaning.
Refer to Item 11.7 Check Items for the timing belt check.
• Grease Check on the Rear Side of the Belt Cover
Check the lubricating condition on the rear side of the belt cover and belt cover support (made of resin) located at the
center of the slider so that the frictional resistance between the slider and belt cover is reduced to move the slider
smoothly.
When there is too little grease, replenish it.
Grease to be used: Multemp LRL 3 manufactured by Kyodo Yushi or equivalent
11.5 Cleaning the Interior
• Use a soft cloth to wipe off dirt on the inside.
• Do not spray strong pressured air that might force dust into the crevices.
• Do not use petroleum-based solvents, neutral detergents or alcohol.
